Endovenous laser ablation
Is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat varicose veins, particularly those affecting the great saphenous vein.Â
Procedure
Preparation: Stay hydrated and avoid caffeine.

Local Anesthesia: The treatment area is typically numbed with a local anesthetic to ensure the patient's comfort during the procedure.

Catheter Insertion: A thin catheter is inserted into the affected vein through a small incision, usually near the knee or ankle.

Laser Fiber Insertion: A laser fiber is threaded through the catheter and positioned within the targeted vein.

Laser Energy Delivery: The laser is activated, and energy is emitted along the length of the catheter. This laser energy heats and closes the vein, causing it to collapse.

Closure Confirmation: The closure of the treated vein is confirmed through ultrasound imaging to ensure the effectiveness of the procedure.
